In performance, "There is Nothing Beautiful About Me," Shalva Nikvashvili confronts the harsh realities of self-punishment and rejection that we all face as human beings. Through a physical metamorphosis, he explores the struggles of identity and the pressure to conform to societal beauty standards.
The performance is a raw and emotional journey, as Nikvashvili inflicts pain on himself as a way of expressing the inner turmoil and self-hatred that can consume us all. Through his movements and physical transformations, he shows us the beauty in our imperfections and the power in embracing our true selves.
